Bozhidar Ivanov is an analyst and policy adviser at Spatial Foresight. He is an urban and social researcher with experience in cross-national comparative research on urban and regional planning and policy making. In addition to his specialisation on the topic of urban shrinkage and population decline, he has also researched and contributed to projects in urban strategy creation, urban development and transformation, labour markets, social inequalities and public discourses. He has performed research in Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and Bulgaria. He holds a PhD in urban and regional planning and policy making (rerum politicarum) from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany (Summa cum laude), a Master degree in Urban Studies from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and a Bachelor degree in Sociology. He is also an experienced project manager and passionate about democracy, futuring and transformation, sustainability, economy and society.
