A new study for the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) explores the territorial impacts of EU trade policy, the challenges arising from geopolitical shifts, trade barriers and supply chain disruptions, and opportunities for more place-based approaches to trade policy.
Led by t33, Spatial Foresight contributes particularly to the analysis of opportunities for cities and regions to benefit from EU trade policies, a regional case study, and a strategic foresight analysis. The latter will develop three scenarios for EU trade and regional competitiveness towards 2035, helping to formulate robust and future-oriented policy recommendations.
The study aims to strengthen the role of local and regional authorities in shaping and implementing EU trade policies.
Client: Committee of the Regions
