JRC handbook on development strategies

Following up on the success of the Handbook of Sustainable Urban Development Strategies, the European Joint Research Centre (JRC) is currently developing an additional complementary handbook. The new handbook extends the focus beyond urban areas and focuses on territorial and local development strategies in more general terms.

The new handbook targets policy makers from Managing Authorities and local bodies responsible for the design and implementation of integrated strategies in non-urban areas, benefitting from financial support under cohesion policy.

Spatial Foresight supports JRC in the development of the handbook, by editing the introduction and the chapters on the strategic dimension and the territorial focus.
