Barriers to Commercialisation in the Nordics

Recent European policy debates have highlighted the difficulties in commercialising innovation across the continent. Although the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Iceland) have strong innovative capabilities, this does not automatically lead to successful commercialisation. This study will analyse the reasons for and consequences of barriers to commercialisation, and how these affect the various stages of the process. The aim is to support Nordic Innovation in clarifying its role and priorities, developing targeted initiatives and identifying areas where Nordic-level action could realistically add value. The project is led by Menon Economics.
